Verona, Romeo and Juliet’s Balcony

Everyone knows Romeo and Juliet’s dramatic love story and especially I, the female part of our Globerider Team, couldn’t resist but have a look at Juliet’s balcony.

Via Cappello 23, the former home of Juliet Capulet.

Probably not as romantic, as you would think with all these tourists below her balcony. Image

There is a tourist shop right across the balcony and it seems to bring love/luck to buy a padlock and lock it onto the big gate or even the tree.

It also seems to be tradition to stick your bubble gum onto the entrance wall. Ew!

We didn’t partake in the padlock or bubble gum madness but I eventually got my personal solitary shot of Juliet’s balcony and I try to imagine how it was… back then…
